- Chartered Financial Analyst
Carl joined HCR in 2015 and has over 10 years of experience in the investment industry serving as a portfolio manager, research analyst and trader. He leads the firm’s efforts in manager research and trading and serves as a member of the Investment Committee at HCR Wealth Advisors. He enjoys helping people find interesting investment ideas, wherever they may be, construct better portfolios being mindful of risk characteristics and tax efficiency, and manage around low-cost basis or other individual security positions subject to tax planning constraints.
Prior to joining HCR, Carl was a portfolio manager at Miracle Mile Advisors where he managed global asset allocation strategies. Before that, he was Assistant Vice President at Stonebridge Capital Management, where he conducted research to support growth equity strategies and high-net-worth client portfolios.
Carl received his Master of Science in Chemical Engineering at the California Institute of Technology and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with high honors and Phi Beta Kappa. He has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
